GEORGE WASHINGTONS SOCKS BY:ELMB ch.1:in my opinion kids should not have muskets and should not be in the war! “Matt curled his cold fingers around his musket”. I chose this quote because it shows how kids could get nervous if they are about to go in war.
Ch.2:adults should always offer their coats to cold children.
“without a coat the cold air just went right threw matt”. This shows kids should not be outside without coats.I chose this quote because it shows kids shouldn’t be in war because they would be to cold.
Ch.3:Adults should not call children cowards.
“they might think he’s a coward”. I chose this quote because it shows that in that time people would think others were cowards because of there looks.
Ch.4:16 year olds should not be in the war in my opinion.

Ch.5:matt should offer his shoe without tradeing for it so Izreal is not to cold.
“I would offer a trade for one of those snakers”. I chose this quote because it shows that Izreal is funny because he calls sneakers snakers.
Ch.6:I fell proud of matt because he did offer the sneakers for nothing in return

Ch.7:I think Izreal is funny because he says funny things
“like a goat????????????”. I chose this quote because it made me laugh when Izreal said to himself he was a goat.
Ch.8:I think Matt will be very grossed out when he figures out what he is eating.
“It is pigeon”. I chose this quote because I think Matt and I were feeling the same thing when I read it and when he ate it.
Ch.9:I feel bad for Izreal because his mother died when his sister was born.
“My mother died in birthing”. I chose this quote because it shows the feelings he must have been feeling when this had happened to his mom.
Ch 10:I feel bad for Izreal because his dad is never there.

Ch.11:I am exieted that Matt has found a friend to spend his journey with during time travel.

Ch.12:I feel bad for Matt because he misses his family and for Izreal because his foot is bloody and doesn’t feel to well.
“he knew the americans had won the battle of Trenton but wasn’t sure if they would win this one.”I chose this quote because it shows that in later in the book they might end up getting killed or wining the battle.
Ch.13:I am sad because if Katie wakes up and Matt isn’t there she might be sad.
“Izreal could no longer speak but Matt knew he was thanking him with his eyes.” I chose this quote because it shows one of the most important characters in this book died and was very funny and nice.
Ch.14:I am happy that Matt got saved by mr.hornbee. I feel good because Matt got what he hoped for . To go somewhere other then war.
“But I can’t leave him”. I chose this quote because it shows Matt had to leave Izreal after he died to save himself.
Ch.15:I am even more happy because Matt has gotten food, warm clothes and a house.I feel good for Matt.
“But you’re a patriot right”. I chose this quote because it shows that Matt is with someone else that might be on a different side of the war then the side he is on.
Ch.16:I am scared Matt is near Indians. I am happy about tony and hooter are with the Indians.
“Katie is not hurt Matt.” I chose this quote because it shows that Katie is not hurt but she might not be with them.
Ch.17:I am happy Matt is going to find Katie. And , I think the Native Americans are being funny because they are trying to get the little man out of the small pocket video game when they are from the 18th century.
“You mean if we get back home.” I chose this quote because it leaves a cliff hanger on if the boys + Katie get home back to their campout.
Ch.18:I am so nervous about the Hessians. They might catch Matt Tony or Hooter when they are trying to save Q and Katie
“Matt did the one thing he hoped he hadn’t……………he closed his eyes”. I chose this quote because it shows that the hessians might get him if he keeps his eyes closed so it shows the risk of getting captured and not saving Katie.
Ch.19:I am surprised that the hessians are nice to the group and sick to my stomach of what the rebels did to Gustav.
“Help Katie cried as the thin ice cracked under her and her left leg disappeared into a hole in the ice”. I chose this quote because it shows Katie could die if someone doesn’t save her.
Ch.20: I am sad Gustav died .He was really nice , and he saved Katie.
”They had come so close to getting home and now they were suddenly closer to getting thrown in jail.” I chose this quote because it shows that you may be wondering why they are being thrown in jail and why , they are not home yet.
Ch.21:I am happy and surprised.Happy they are not in war zone anymore but surprised if they aren’t home.
“Mateo are we home.” I chose this quote because it leaves a cliff hanger of the best part of the book, if they are home or not.
Ch.22: I am happy they got home and are warm.
“As the mist slowly lifted and the golden sun rose in the east everyone looked out across the lake to find Tony’s house nestled saftly in the trees just the way we left it.” I chose this quote because it shows the happiness of being home and not dead or in jail or even still in 1776.
Ch.23:I am happy Matt is glad to be home
“Tv I am going to watch tv.” I chose this quote because it shows Matt missed home when he was away and shows that he is very tired of war.
