I can picture the rain tapping the roof and hearing it bang down lightly like a luluby. Opinion: My opinion for this poem is that I think its a realy good poem because when I frist read this poem I could imige the rain and it makes me feel calm and relaxed. That is why I like this poem.

By: AA JJ My reaction to chapter 11 is worried because the adventure club does not know where they are and how to get home. I picked the quote “Matt imagined he was talking to his mom on the phone .That quote made me feel bad for them because they might not go back home. My reaction to chapter 12 is scared because a bad storm has stroke. I picked the quote “Henry, why is your coat red? Isn’t that the color of the enemy? That quote shows me that it is scary because the soldiers on General George Washington’s side will think Henry is a Hessian.  My reaction to chapter 13 is sad because Matt’s friend “ Israel” had died . I picked the quote “And, oh, yeah, Batman. I’ve got to tell you about Batman. See, there’s this guy, Bruce Wayne, who’s living in Gotham city… are you listening, Israel ?”My reaction to chapter 14 is happy because the adventure club found a place to stay while they were in the 18^th century. I picked the quotes “Wake up! Wake up, son. Come now, it’s no time for sleeping, and I’m getting up, dad. I am,” Matt mumbled, with his eyes still closed. That made me happy because Matt was feeling at home. My reaction to chapter 15 is confused because Mr. Hornbee said to Matt that he is too young to talk about the war. I picked the quote “ You are too young to be having to make sense of this war business, though in truth even an old man such as myself can little understand it.” I can’t believe he said that and the adventure club read a story about the war. My reaction to chapter 16 is scared because the adventure club went on a creepy trail with Blackjack. I picked the quote “ It sure is creepy in here, Blackjack” Matt whispered as he and the old mule made their way further along the trail. The noises they heard were scaring them. My reaction to chapter 17 is freaked out because it said “ He paused looking for Tony and hooter then Matt walked over to the Indians. My reaction to chapter 18 is glad because the Indians risked their lives. I picked the quote “Sh… sh…”one of the Indians suddenly whispered, because they heard the hessians coming. My reaction to chapter 19 is sad because the nice Hessian [Gustav] got shot by the bad Hessians. I picked the quote “ No! Hooter screamed. “Gustav! Gustav! ”because Hooter was his best friend. My reaction to chapter 20 is sad because the members of the adventure club was about to go to prison. I picked the quote “So, were dealing with some tory spies, are we? I chose that quote because it showed me that the adventure club was in real danger and the soldier took them as a spy. The kids almost went to prison. They were so close to getting home and not be in war. My reaction to chapter 21 is shocked because I thought the adventure club wouldn’t be able to get home. The quotes “Time travel” and “Don’t you remember how we all fell under its spell as soon as we saw it?” Those quotes meant that the boat time traveled them to the 18^th century. My reaction to chapter 22 is happy because they found a way to time travel back home. I picked the quote “Maybe it’s some kind of secret message that we were meant to find” because that is a way to get back home. My reaction to chapter 23 is glad because they finally got home. I picked the quote “Home sweet home” because the club thought they were not going to make it.

The quote that I chose for this chapter is “Creak”

I chose this quote because this describes how the door or something would sound like when it opens. Like the part when the main character wakes up from his 800+ sleep and the quote “creak” happens when he opens up his coffin. The quote “creak” can explain lots of doors opening but rather, it describes the sound of a coffin opening in this comic book.

Chapter 11:“He closed his eyes now imagined that he was talking to his mother on the phone. “oh, hi Mom How are you? Me? Oh I’m great. I`m just hanging out in the eighteenth century. Behave myself? Don`t worry, Mom, George Washington and a few of his friends are here to that. Home? I don`t know when I`ll be back, but I will come back, I promise. “ It`s funny to me because he`s imagining all of this it`s not real.

Chapter 12:“What I wouldn`t give for a ride in a nice big heated car, Mathew thought. And it wouldn`t even have to have a radio. I think it`s really funny!

Chapter13: I wonder how Katie is doing Matt was thinking as he shook some snow from his head. I hope she`s warm, and I hope she`s safe. I`ll never forgive myself if anything happened to her. I like this quote because it really shows that MATT LOVES KATIE VERY MUCH!

CHAPTER14: I`m getting up, dad. I am, “ matt mumbled, with his eyes still closed. “Tell mom I don`t want any breakfast. I`ve got gym first period today and I`ll just throw up if I have to eat anything, “ he moaned. It is funny because he thinks he`s still at home.

Chapter15: Temperance makes a fine stew. “he smiled weakly. “but a dreadful patriot I’m afraid. It`s sad and rude because 1: it`s sad he`s saying that about his wife and 2: its rude that he thinks that about his wife.

Chapter16: It sure is creepy in here, Blackjack, “ Matt whispered as he and the old mule made their way farther along the trail. i like this quote because he knows mules don`t talk and its just so hilarious.

Chapter17: big tall men, “he said, putting his hands over his head. Then he motioned to his clothes. “ They have fancy uniforms and guns. “ Matt picked up a stick and aimed it like a gun. “ And they have my little sister, “ he tried to tell them, getting down on his knees and walking around with his thumb in his mouth. I like this quote because it is funny when he gets down on his knees and he puts his thumb in his mouth witch is hilarious!

Chapter18: once off the trail, matt felt as if he had entered an unending maze of trees and bushes. Also it very strange!

Chapter19:“ got to open my eyes, I`ve got to! Matt was thinking franticly as he tried to find the courage to face the enemy.

Chapter20: Here it is “Matt looked away, unable to watch anymore, as the soldiers laughed and made fun of the dead man. I picked this quote because it is so mean and rude that the soldiers are making fun and laughing at the dead man because that is the worstEs’t thing you can do to a dead man.

Ch.12 “what I would do for a heated car’’. He is giving a decripsion of how cold he is. Ch.13 “come on, Israel I’ll help you. But Israel smiled weakly and shook his head. you’ll  have to go on with out me”, he said hoarsely.’ Mat t really cares about Israel and knows that Isreal can do it. Ch.14 ”No, lad I’m not your father. My name is Nathan Hornbee. your just a bit confused,is all. Come on then , you need to thaw out and get some of hat breakfast you where talking about.” Matt was amngning being at home and his father was calling him but he forgot he was in the 1800 th’s. a guy named Nathan Hornbee invided Matt to go and get some of that breakfast Matt was talking about. Ch.15 ” But you a are patriot, right? Matt asked” .Maybe the person Matt was talking about was wearing blue ( the others sides color was red the loyle color.) Ch.16 “  the strange noise that they hade been hearing  were now followed by rustling of leaves .” Maybe the sounds that they where hearing started  to   scear Matt. Ch.17  “ he’s trying to show you that the berries are poison”. The indeanls are trying to use sylangege to tell Matt and Hooter that the berries are poison.1. Ch. 18 “ A stick, tony whimpered, “did he say stick, maybe we could convince them that we’re friends ,’’ Hooter suggested .’’ Hooter thinks that they can get them to think that they are on there  side .Ch. 19 “ Uh, das Katie . her name is Katie ,’’ matt said’’. Matt was talking in a way so he could find his sister. Ch.20 “ No, Hooter cried ,Gustav! Gustav!’’ sinking to the ground. The rebles stood staring with puzzled eyes.’’  They where just standing there staring tooking at hooter and they where  SUPERIZED. Ch . Chapter 11 was heart . Matt just got a new friend, That’s what he told himself, His name was Israel. Israel was helping Matt too find his friends. I think this was heart pumping because you never know when Israel is going to die.

CH12

Ch12. Chapter 12 is surprising to me because Matt was in a storm so cold that his face was about to become chapped. He wound not see which means he can`t find shelter, All he knew to do was to keep going. Matt found his friends with his head down his chest he was still very sick

 

CH13

Ch13. Chapter 13 is sad because Matt’s friend sadly died from   the very cold storm. Sadly Katie was still missing. Matt was worry, He was wondering what was Katie was doing, all he can think of is if Katie was warm with a fire. Matt was very sad about Israel dying. He cried out to the sky. Q: What do I do Israel .

Matt was sleeping, Wake up boy! Said a man. People were shooting in there direction, Take cover he said. It was so loud there he could hear a voice calling Matt. Matt was in a tunnel, Q:I think its coming from the end of the tunnel. He got scared as the voice got louder and deeper. As the shooting stoped the voice stoped. Hooter/Matts friend, What happend? Nothing. So my reactionis that i was scared.

A man walk up to Matt, Your not bad and your to young. Matt and his friends ran away as he was taking a knife out. So my reaciton was that i was scared same as CH14

Ch16. My reaction of chapter 16 is that its wield because Matt and his friends were in this place that they said that was creepy and things were getting WIELD.

Ch.1 In chapter one of George Washington’s Socks the chapter introduced me to a bunch of new people, but I felt a lot for or each person in this chapter.

Q.1 “Honey, did you want more sugar for that?” I chose this quote because it’s so funny how Matt’s mom sees him hiding peas in the bowl but suspect he’s doing something else.

Ch.2 In chapter two of George Washington’s Socks the book made me know a little bit more of the kids in this book.

Q.2 “Can we go home and get my blanket?” I chose this quote because it’s just funny and cute how Katie acts.

Ch.3 In chapter three of George Washington’s Socks the chapter showed still more details of the kids in the book just like in the last chapter, chapter two.

Q.3 “Look Katie, you can have that whole bag of marshmallows to yourself.” I chose this Quote because it’s so funny how Matt tries to bribe Katie with the whole entire bag of marshmallows.

Ch.4 In chapter four of George Washington’s Socks I learned a lot about the history of the book                                 and the background of the story that we don’t experience in the main story.

Q.4 “Grandpa investigated all of them. He could never put to rest what happened to his friend” I chose this quote because seeing how creepy the backstory of this book feels so amazing.

Ch.5 In chapter 5 it seems like the book is setting up a main plot point and the chapter is really creepy as well with the cursed lake and everything it’s all just really creepy.

Q.5 “My marshmallows I dropped my marshmallows said Katie” I just love how innocent Katie is and how cute she is too.

Ch.6 In chapter 6 of George Washington’s Socks the chapter felt epic and how at the end of the chapter Matt felt the guilt of losing his sister Katie.

Q.6 “It’s all my fault Hooter, it’s all my fault cried Matt” I chose this quote because you just have to feel bad for Matt because he thought he lost his sister Katie.

Ch.7 In chapter 7 of George Washington’s Socks the chapter was just as epic as the last but at the end Matt finally meets George Washington after George saved Katie from drowning in the incredibly cold and frozen ice and water of Trenton.

Q.7 “Before TV? Q squeaked” I chose this quote because it’s just funny how Q is still wondering about TV when there in a horrifying place they got themselves into.

Ch.8 In chapter 8 of George Washington’s Socks the chapter mostly focuses on the rebels commanded by General Washington dealing with Tony, Katie, Hooter, Q, Matt, and the Revolutionary War.

Q.1 “They are dressed in a queerish fashion but have a look general there just children.” I chose this quote because it’s so funny how back old days people used words like queerish and other words.

Ch.9 In chapter 9 of George Washington’s Socks it seems like the kids are all tied around a gentleman named Adam Hibbs and his past with the present. Also, the chapter is just like the rest had a lot of George Washington’s rebels.

Q.9 “He’s Adam Hibbs Matt shot a glance at Tony and Hooter” I chose this quote because it’s funny in real life you image someone actually yelling out this it would be so weird.

Ch.10 In chapter 10 of George Washington’s Socks the chapter introduces a new character named Israel a boy who joined the rebels for his siblings and his family to help them live through their lives with little food to be feed as his father no longer cares about the children of the family or anyone in fact at all. Also, the chapter also focuses around Trenton and the storm that is holding the rebels back from the main battle in the main battle in Trenton.

Q.10 “Matt… uh Matthew Carlton” I chose this quote because it’s so funny how Matt stutters almost every time he speaks with any kind of person anytime anywhere.

Ch.11 In chapter 11 of George Washington’s Socks Matt is mostly dreaming of and the chapter explains a lot more about the Matt and lets the reader connect to Matt as if the Reader where really in that situation with Matt with the reader.

Q.11 Israel shock his head “What is an okay” I chose this quote because of how people back in the old days when George Washington was around didn’t know words we use today when talking to one another.

Ch.12 In chapter 12 of GWS Matt and Israel talks more about the war and Hessians than Matt’s and Israel’s lives. Also we are introduced to a new character how is a little boy older than Matt and is a drummer boy for the Patriots.

Q.12 “Have you ever seen one of those giants?” I chose this quote because of how Israel is such a coward and he’s always over thinking things.

Ch.13 In chapter 13 of George Washington’s Socks Sadly Israel unfortunately dies from the freezing weather of Trenton and from the dialogue of Matt he seems a little crazy after Israel’s death from Trenton. Matt starts talking about Batman and Bruce Wayne to Israel’s body. Also lastly Matt made a promise to Israel that he would give his little sister beads as a gift.

Q.13 “And there is this guy called Bruce Wayne who lives in Gotham City Israel are you listening to me?” I chose this quote because it’s weird how Matt is talking to a dead body plus it makes me think is Matt actually going crazy?

Ch.14 In chapter 10 of George Washington’s Socks Matt seems to be awoken by a new character named Mr. Hornbee how seems to be so kind to let Matt stay at his house after he passed out right after Israel’s death in Trenton last chapter.

Q.14 “I’m getting up I am.” I chose this quote because of how funny Matt calls Mr. Hornbee Matt’s dad or father.

Ch.15 In chapter 15 of George Washington’s Socks Matt and Mr. Hornbee talk about their lives then Matt leaves to find his friends with a horse owned by Mr. Hornbee called Blackjack to find his friends quicker and faster.

Q.15 “I’m from the 22 century.” I chose this quote because of how nobody would ever believe Matt time traveled using an old rowboat.

Ch.16 In chapter 16 of George Washington’s Socks Matt meets up with his friends while leaving Blackjack and meeting some Indians and somehow trying to talk to them using Matt’s version of sign language.

Q.16 “There are no telephones to dial 911” I like how a member from the group tries to point out there is no telephone to call 911 even though it is you can tell the telephone was not invented yet nor 911.

Ch.17 In chapter 16 of George Washington’s Socks the chapter was more like the last but with more humor and more interactions with the Indians.

Q.17 “I guess we know more about video games and they know more about survival.” I chose this quote because right before this the Indians destroyed the video game Tony saved up for so long.

Ch.18 In chapter 18 of George Washington’s Socks the 3 friends try and save Q and Katie but instead to not get them killed Matt figures out a plan with the muskets to shoot the enemy Germans.

Q.18 “Katie screamed.” I chose this quote because it has been so long since we have seen Katie and how cute she is.

Ch.19 In chapter 19 of George Washington’s Socks somehow Hooter make the enemy Germans there friends and because of that we meet a new character named Gustav who is a German solder how is fighting the Patriots in Trenton and everywhere the Revolutionary War will take place and last seems to so far be a very close friend to Hooter

Q.19 “We give up! Matt cried.” I chose this quote because of how in the beginning of the book he thought he was the bravest but now he’s acting like a coward while the others are not.

Ch.20 In chapter 20 of George Washington’s Socks Gustav dies from a musket shot to the body. Also it seems as the Patriot soldiers are thinking that Matt and his friends are British spies working for King George.

Q.20 “Who are the good guys and who are the bad guys?” I chose that quote because that’s what I thank the book is trying to explain.

Ch.21 In chapter 21 of GWS the friends at last meet up with George Washington. After the encounter the club finds a way home. I honestly do not like how they somehow go back home I think it’s a little anticlimactic.

Q.21 “No, no, I’m fine except for the soaking.” I chose this quote because of how funny the general is being so sarcastic.

Ch.22 In chapter 22 of GWS Matt and friends come back home from the crazy adventure they had today.

Q.1”Trying to sound like his hero Sherlock Holmes.” I chose this quote because it’s the most funniest thing in this chapter and I could see Q being Sherlock.

Ch.23 In chapter 23 of GWS we follow Matt as he goes to his home and just relax and chill

In chapter 21 my reaction scared because it says ‘’the group was all together again but they saw that Katie was gone. My favorite quote is ‘’her little hands I though it was so cute. In the story it says ‘’only if we could find the magic of the boat’’.
