Due to a short week, field trip, and science fair, we will not have word work this week.
Month: March 2018
Work due tomorrow
If you didn’t finish math page 344 # 1,2,3,5,7,8,9 in class today, please finish tonight.
Science fair board is also due tomorrow.
We are headed to our field trip in the morning. If we have time we will begin presentations tomorrow, otherwise we will present Wednesday.
SCIENCE FAIR THURSDAY.
Field Trip Rescheduled to Tuesday
The Ecotarium will be our site for the day on Tuesday. It looks as though the weather will allow us to go this time. Please sign and return the new permission slip that went home this afternoon.
Science Fair Next Week
On Tuesday, project boards are due. We will begin presenting on that day, and the fair is on Thursday.
Work for the Week
Word Work is once again on hold this week so that you can focus on your final draft of your science fair paper (due Thursday) and your Central Africa persuasive piece (due Friday).
Mrs. Derr’s Sick Days March 15 and 16
Dear Students,
Unfortunately, I will not be able to come to school until Monday. I will miss you until then. I will rest up and be back with you after the weekend.
I will check your science fair drafts that were due this week on Monday. Remember that your whole paper is due next week. Keep up the good work on the science fair.
You will take a math test during your computer time. I have assigned it on Pearson Realize. Please work your hardest on the test. If you do not finish, you can finish at home. If you don’t have a computer, you will finish at school when you get onto the computer during station rotations. If you finish the test, work on the performance assessment. I have assigned that as well.
You will have time today to work on your poetry comparisons, and you will have the opportunity to share your poems with each other. Also, you will be working on your Central Africa essays which are due next week. If you take advantage of the time, you will not have to do too much work on it next week. You will read Westing Game with the substitute, please fill him or her in on the important details that have happened so far. Each day, after you read, please write me a note about what happened in the part you read, so that I can keep up with you.
You will take your social studies test tomorrow. The questions are: 1. What is a wave? 2. What are the two kinds of waves, 3. Draw and label the parts of a wave. (Alaina, please write these on the board for the test.) You will answer on notebook paper and pass in to the finished work bin.
In social studies you will begin studying about West Africa. It is interesting, and I know you will do a good job.
Please have a good few days.
Sincerely,
Mrs. Derr
