Good day to you. In Math class, we are working on ratios.  We worked on lesson 5-2 in our Pearson book.  We learned about the ways to create equivalent ratios.  Tonight for homework,

page 266 # 5-10, page 267 # 11, 13, 14, 17, 18.  Also, if you need to fix or finish other math work, do that too.

 

In reading class, we wrapped up quadrant one book club meetings.  Tonight, you will need to make sure you are ready to start quadrant two tomorrow.

In writing, we worked on a preassessment.  We will finish the Magic Elizabeth narrative assessment tomorrow.  You are not expected to work on this outside of class.

In Social Studies, we created North Africa mini-posters.  We will present them on Wednesday.

I am glad to welcome you back for the new year!  We are off to a running start.  Today we began topic 5 in math (Rate and Ratios).  We are preparing for our first mystery book club meetings this week.  Students are wrapping up their work on quadrant one in their book club books today so that we can meet on Thursday and Friday.  In science, we are wrapping up our study of waves.  In Social Studies, students will work on a quick mini-project about North Africa.

FOR HOMEWORK:

Math page 255

Read for 20 or more minutes and RECORD in your plan book!

Book Club:  If you did not finish preparing for your group meeting, do so tonight.  At this point, you should have read the first quadrant of your book, completed all the appropriate pages in your book club workbook, written a retell summary, and marked parts in the quadrant that you want to talk about in your book club meeting.

Social Studies: Finish taking notes on your North African country.

 

Tonight’s Work

If you did not finish page 194 in class, finish for homework.

If you need more practice, you can work on the problems we didn’t complete today.  If you think you are ready to move ahead, work on the pages for 4-4.

Westing Game Alternate P.O.V.: complete graphic organizer.

Book Club: work on your assignment from today if you did not finish.

Read for 20 minutes.

 

 

 

Tonight’s Work

Math: pages 143(odds) and 144 (23, 26,29,30).  There will be a quiz on these pages tomorrow.

Science: Engineering matching game with a paragraph describing the engineering process.  You must use the word prototype in your description and type it underneath the matching game.

Tonight’s Work (Character Essay and Math test)

For your character essay, the following items should already be complete: TIDE organizer and Topic Introduction paragraph.  If you are missing either of these, complete them tonight. Tonight you are making sure you have quotes from the Westing Game in your draft.

 

You also have a TOPIC 2 Math test tomorrow.  Study and Practice.
