Holiday Celebration

Happy Holidays to all of you!  On Thursday we will have a holiday celebration in the afternoon.  I have a special activity planned for that time, but I am keeping it a surprise.  I will say that it will be fun, yummy, and related to engineering!

If you would like to send items in, I will gladly accept small candies, napkins, paper plates, disposable knives/spoons, and water bottles.  A student has already volunteered to bring cupcakes.

Math Test Thursday

Students will have a topic three math test on Thursday.  On their Pearson realize account is a test which they can take to study.  There are also IXL assignments that should be completed to prepare for the test.  The student math book also contains a review section, and there are many problems in the book that we did not do that could be practice for the test.

Students will need to feel confident with the following:

  1. Evaluate expressions (use Order of Operations)
  2. Write and evaluate expressions to represent a situation
  3. Simplify expressions
  4. Choose and/or write algebraic expressions to represent situations
  5. Greatest Common Factor/Least Common Multiple

Southern Africa Mini Projects this Week

In Social Studies this week, students are working in partners to learn about one country in Southern Africa.  At the end of the week, students will present that information to the class on a small poster.  Students will research information in the following categories: location, culture, economy, history, government, physical geography.
